Description
The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) administers the Texans Feeding Texans: Home-Delivered Meal Grant Program to supplement and extend existing meal delivery services for homebound Texans who are at least 60 years old or have a disability. It funds direct providers rather than establishing a separate type of meal service. Congregate meals are not eligible.
Funding can support necessary, reasonable costs directly related to home-delivered meals, including personnel, food and packaging, transportation, building occupancy, supplies, and small equipment costing less than $10,000. Funds must supplement or extend existing services, not replace other funding. Counties participate by awarding cash grants to providers serving their residents.
