Description
The Texas Historical Commission (THC) awards Texas Preservation Trust Fund grants to help protect threatened historic structures, significant archeological sites, and associated collections in Texas. Established by the Texas Legislature in 1989, the fund uses investment earnings to support acquisition, restoration, rehabilitation, preservation planning, archeological investigation and collections care, historic resource surveys, and heritage education.
The program emphasizes endangered resources and public benefit. Projects may address historic buildings, landscapes, archeological sites, and collections, or train people and organizations in preservation techniques. A separate pool of earmarked funding supports eligible projects in the Texas Panhandle and the City of Dallas.
