Description
Transportation and Growth Management (TGM) Planning Grants are a joint program of the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD). The program links transportation and land use planning to expand opportunities for walking, bicycling, and transit, support economic vitality, save public and private costs, and promote environmental stewardship.
Grants support transportation system plans and updates, corridor and multimodal safety plans, transit development plans, and Safe Routes to School-related infrastructure plans. Integrated planning projects may address downtowns, neighborhoods, employment areas, urban growth areas, or implementing measures such as code amendments and redevelopment strategies. The emphasis is on planning that leads to local policy decisions, rather than stand-alone research or construction. TGM also prioritizes reducing barriers to housing production, affordability, accessibility, and transportation-connected housing choices.
