Description
The Australian Academy of Science offers Flagship grants through the Theo Murphy Initiative (Australia) to support ambitious activities led by early- and mid-career researchers (EMCRs). Supported by the Royal Society, the program funds stand-alone conferences, workshops, training programs, collaborative initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities across all STEM fields. Activities must deliver tangible benefits to Australian EMCRs from more than one organisation.
The program emphasises lasting value beyond an event, including new collaborations, resources, networks, publications and training opportunities. It considers innovative activity design, knowledge sharing, diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility, while giving researchers opportunities to develop leadership and delivery experience. The Academy’s secretariat provides guidance on scope, deliverability and project management.
