The Carl & Marilynn Thoma Foundation’s Collections-Related Grants for Nonprofits support innovative projects and original ideas connected to its collection areas and artists. The program seeks to heighten public interest and awareness, advance art historical scholarship, and promote partnerships in art and art history. Its collection areas are Art of the Spanish Americas, Digital & Media Art, Japanese Bamboo, and Post-War Painting & Sculpture. Requests concerning the arts and culture of the American Southwest are also welcome.
Support encompasses landmark exhibitions, academic conferences and workshops, original research, and museum exhibition catalogs. The Foundation welcomes bold proposals and values long-term relationships with grantees.
