Description
This funding opportunity is offered by the Delaware Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH) under the State Opioid Response (SOR) 4.0 Grant, with the goal of strengthening early intervention and treatment referral for opioid and stimulant use disorders (OUD/SUD) in Delaware. The grant supports hospital emergency departments in adopting the SBIRT+ (Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral to Treatment, and follow-up) model, including integration of validated screening tools, motivational interviewing, warm handoffs to treatment, robust follow-up, and naloxone/Narcan distribution into emergency department workflows. Projects must also participate in technical assistance, data collection, and fidelity monitoring. Only two awards are available: one for a hospital ED in Kent County and one for a hospital ED in New Castle County.
