Description
CalRecycle’s Tire Incentive Program supports manufacturers using recycled tire material in commercial products. It provides financial incentives to help businesses price and market different and higher-value tire-derived products more competitively, increasing sales and market share. Supported work includes new and existing products, conversion from virgin rubber or other materials, devulcanized rubber, and fine-mesh crumb rubber.
Eligible manufacturing processes include co-extrusion, injection, compounding, and calendering, including production of intermediate rubber materials. Potential products include flooring, conveyor belts, agricultural harvesting devices, landscaping and building products, traffic devices, fencing, paints, sealants, coatings, and accessibility ramps. Certain asphalt products and rubberized sidewalks, pathways, and tree wells designed specifically for stormwater management also qualify.
