Description
The North Carolina 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) program, administered by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI), provides federal funding to establish or expand community learning centers that operate during out-of-school hours. The program targets K-12 students in high-poverty and low-performing schools and supports academic enrichment, tutorial services, and a wide array of additional activities. These include youth development, arts, STEM, wellness, technology, financial and environmental literacy, and career readiness, as well as family engagement and literacy development. The aim is to reinforce and complement the regular academic program and foster holistic student and family support.
