Description
The Research Council of Norway provides top-up financing to make it more attractive for Norwegian research organisations to host incoming Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) postdoctoral fellows. The scheme supplements the funding that Norwegian host institutions receive from HFSP and supports internationalisation and researcher mobility.
HFSP promotes international collaboration in basic research into the sophisticated and complex mechanisms of living organisms, emphasising ground-breaking research and cross-disciplinary or interdisciplinary approaches. The top-up can help bring a fellow’s salary into line with normal practice at the host institution by covering personnel and indirect costs. Alternatively, it can cover actual costs associated with the fellow’s research project, including necessary research operating expenses and scientific equipment operating and depreciation costs.
