Description
This Fulbright U.S. Scholar award, sponsored by the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), supports teaching and research at its Institute of Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development (TIDES) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. The scholar divides their time equally between teaching and research, undertaking host-designated and scholar-chosen research and teaching exclusively in English. Teaching includes undergraduate tourism courses and graduate courses in tourism economics, transportation and environment.
The exchange supports TIDES’ mission to generate and circulate tourism research, participate in international research networks, and apply knowledge to economic, social and environmental development in tourist destinations. It also advances Fulbright’s goal of strengthening relationships between the United States and other countries through international understanding and cooperation.
