Description
The California Transportation Commission administers this statewide competitive program using state Trade Corridor Enhancement Account funds and federal National Highway Freight Program funds. It supports freight infrastructure on federally designated trade corridors, California’s portion of the National Highway Freight Network, and other high-volume freight corridors, including corridors prioritized for zero-emission infrastructure.
Projects can improve highways, freight rail, ports, border crossings, truck routes, and roads that move goods. Eligible work also includes freight-related advanced technology and zero- or near-zero-emission infrastructure. The program seeks more efficient and reliable freight movement while considering safety, congestion, air quality, community engagement, and economic impacts.
