Description
The Traditional Research Initiation Grant (RIG), offered by Oklahoma NASA EPSCoR, provides seed funding to establish new research collaborations with counterparts at NASA Centers and NASA Mission Directorates. The program helps researchers initiate NASA partnerships and prepare proposals for larger, longer-term Research Implementation grants. It emphasizes scientific and technical merit and relevance to both NASA and Oklahoma.
Supported work must align with NASA’s 2026 Strategic Priorities and research focus areas, along with relevant Mission Directorate priorities. Research resources cover aeronautics research, exploration systems development, science, space operations, and space technology. Funding supports research personnel, materials and supplies, and research visits to NASA Centers undertaken through new collaborations.
