Description
The American Society for Investigative Pathology (ASIP) runs the Trainee Scholar Awards program to recognize excellence in research and encourage young scientists’ entry into the basic, translational, and clinical science community. The program serves undergraduate, predoctoral, and postdoctoral trainee members and connects recognition of their research with participation in ASIP events.
The program encompasses several named awards rather than a single research grant. Opportunities include awards focused on cardiovascular research, neoplasia, and liver pathobiology, as well as trainee travel and education. The A.D. Sobel awards support education and training at the ASIP Annual Meeting through recognition of leading trainee abstracts. The International Trainee Scholar Award encourages scientists from economically under-developed countries to participate in meetings and courses sponsored or supported by ASIP.
