Description
The Trainees First program, offered by the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), provides residents the opportunity to work alongside their program directors in reviewing abstract submissions for the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting. This initiative is designed to train residents in the abstract review process, enhance their critical evaluation skills, and deepen their understanding of scholarly peer review within interventional radiology. Program directors act as mentors, offering feedback and guidance throughout the process. Participating programs receive formal recognition on the SIR and APDIR websites and in the official SIR Annual Meeting JVIR supplement, highlighting their commitment to education and professional development in the specialty.
