Description

The University of Calgary’s Office of the Vice-President (Research) runs this program to foster lasting connections among scholars, trainees, and external partners. It supports exploration of complex, societally relevant issues through scholarship that crosses disciplinary boundaries and incorporates knowledge from outside the university. Activities should have clear timelines, targeted aims, and a connection to broader, longer-term collaborations. Work may build on existing programs but must extend beyond their current scope.

The Initiating stream supports new connections through symposia, meetings, travel to external collaborators, and student support. The Consolidating stream deepens existing collaborations through defined research and scholarship activities, meeting expenses, and staff or student support. Its goal is to advance collaborations and position teams for future scholarship and external funding.
