Description
The Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Program funds community-led work in California neighborhoods most burdened by pollution. Administered by the California Strategic Growth Council in partnership with the California Department of Conservation, it supports communities in choosing projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions while improving public health, environmental conditions, and economic opportunity. Round 6 is funded by the state’s Climate Bond.
Planning Grants help communities prepare for future funding; Project Development Grants advance previously identified priorities toward implementation. Implementation Grants fund multiple coordinated neighborhood projects, such as housing, transit, energy, greening, and health initiatives. Across all three grant types, TCC emphasizes a shared community vision, partnerships, and benefits shaped by local priorities.
