Description
The Transfusion Medicine Fellowship at Mayo Clinic’s Rochester, Minnesota campus is a one-year, ACGME-accredited program designed to provide in-depth clinical and laboratory training across all aspects of transfusion medicine and blood banking. Fellows gain “vein-to-vein” experience, including donor recruitment, advanced serology, blood component production, cellular therapy, therapeutic and donor apheresis, histocompatibility testing, infectious disease testing, and clinical consultation. The program also emphasizes quality, regulatory activities, administration, and research opportunities, preparing graduates for careers in academic centers, hospital blood banks, or as research investigators.
