The Transition to Independence Grant (TIG) from the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) is designed to help junior faculty clinician-scientists in anesthesiology successfully transition from mentored, training-focused research toward independent research careers. The TIG specifically supports investigators who have recently completed a FAER Mentored Research Training Grant (MRTG) and are actively revising and resubmitting applications for major independent research funding (e.g., NIH R01/R21, VA Merit, AHRQ, or equivalent) after receiving a competitive but non-fundable score. This one-year grant provides resources to help gather additional data and strengthen the resubmission, with the goal of maximizing the likelihood of securing independent funding.
