Description
KidneyCure, the ASN Foundation, awards Transition to Independence Grants to help early-career faculty establish independent biomedical research careers. The program supports clinical and basic science proposals examining any aspect of kidney biology and disease. Its goal is to generate preliminary data for an R01-level application and establish the basis for an independent research program. Successful applicants should be competitive for NIH R01 funding or its equivalent by the end of the award.
Satellite Healthcare supports the program and, with ASN, endowed the Norman and Sandra Coplon Research Scholar Grant for general nephrology investigators. KidneyCure welcomes applicants whose personal backgrounds or life experiences bring valuable perspectives to nephrology, particularly those who have encountered barriers to entering the field.
