Description
The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) offers Transitional Work Grants to help employers develop return-to-work programs tailored to their businesses and employees. Transitional work provides an individualized interim step for employees recovering from work-related injuries with job restrictions. It uses real job duties for a specified period to help injured workers gradually return to their original jobs, as soon as safely possible and before they are fully recovered.
Program components include company and job analyses, labor-management collaboration, policy and procedure development, a community resource directory, training for management, supervisors and workers, and evaluation of program effectiveness. The program aims to support worker recovery while reducing workers’ compensation costs and time away from work.
