Description
The British Heart Foundation’s Translational Pump Priming Awards provide smaller, agile funding for focused projects that answer a single question, validate data, and close an evidence gap needed to advance an innovation. The aim is to generate proof-of-concept evidence that strengthens the case for larger translational research funding applications or future investment, rather than support completely new, exploratory research questions.
Awards support pre-clinical and clinical development, including early-phase studies evaluating efficacy and safety. Eligible technologies include novel therapeutics (small molecules or biologics), repurposed drugs, devices, diagnostics, imaging technologies, digital solutions, cell therapies and regenerative medicine, and surgical techniques. Activities may include advancing existing research outputs, developing and demonstrating prototypes, and conducting validation studies.
