Description
The American Physiological Society’s Translational Physiology Interest Group (TPIG) offers this award to recognize predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees conducting experimental research with potential industry applications. Relevant work includes treatment development or improvement, diagnosis, mechanisms of action, and health and wellness. The award emphasizes research that connects experimental investigation with practical uses and demonstrates significance to its field.
The TPIG Awards Committee selects one predoctoral recipient and one postdoctoral recipient each year. Selection considers the scientific quality and clarity of the applicant’s abstract, the applicant’s contributions to the research, the research’s significance, and the applicant’s career goals. Recognition includes a cash award and early registration to the American Physiology Summit.
