    Description

The Translational Science Pilot Award is run by the Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research’s Pilot Program at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. It supports projects addressing common scientific and operational barriers that slow research, with the goal of improving translational research efficiency and effectiveness across diseases and fields. Work may span basic science, clinical implementation, and community and public health delivery and scale-up.

Projects should test an innovation or approach to mitigating a barrier, evaluate its effectiveness, and explain how the solution can be applied across diseases and conditions. Expected deliverables include playbooks, toolkits, methods, or software that extend a project’s use. Disease-specific projects are welcome when they address a broader translational science need and generate knowledge, methods, or tools relevant beyond one disease area.
