Description
The Transportation Planning Grants program, administered by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), provides funding to municipalities and counties across Tennessee to develop comprehensive transportation planning documents. These grants are intended to help local governments address traffic flow, safety, mobility, and the overall efficiency of their transportation systems. Eligible planning activities include complete streets plans, bicycle and pedestrian master plans, corridor studies, community mobility plans, transportation systems management and operations (TSMO) plans, resurfacing plans, and other innovative transportation planning efforts. The program aims to foster sustainable improvements and frequently positions recipients for future implementation funding from state or federal sources.
