Description
The Transylvania Endowment, administered through the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (CFWNC), supports charitable projects that improve quality of life in Transylvania County. Its purpose combines promoting charitable giving with funding work that benefits local communities and residents. Requests demonstrating the greatest community benefit receive the highest consideration.
Established in 1998, the Endowment provides a permanent charitable resource for the county’s changing needs and opportunities. Contributions are pooled and invested by CFWNC, with investment proceeds supporting grants while original gifts remain intact. The program supports charitable purposes broadly, rather than a single program area, and evaluates proposals according to local benefit, organizational capabilities, Endowment priorities, and available funds.
