Description
The Administration for Community Living’s Traumatic Brain Injury Model Systems (TBIMS) Centers conduct research that advances the development of and access to evidence-based rehabilitation for people with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Centers must generate knowledge that can improve outcomes in at least one domain of NIDILRR’s Long Range Plan: health and function, community living and participation, or employment.
Each center must conduct site-specific and collaborative research and contribute data to the TBIMS longitudinal database. The program supports institutions that provide care from emergency medical services through acute care, acute medical rehabilitation, and post-acute services.
