Description
The Foundation for SMFM’s Travel Award reimburses travel and lodging for an eligible practicing obstetrician from a low- or middle-income country (LMIC) to attend the SMFM Pregnancy Meeting. Support is directed toward meeting participation rather than a separate research project. The award is part of the Queenan Global Health Awards, established in 2014 in honor of Dr. John T. Queenan.
The broader Queenan program aims to train current and future leaders in perinatal health to work in partnership toward advancing obstetrics in LMICs, where a disproportionate burden of adverse outcomes occurs. The Travel Award connects this global health mission with participation in the Pregnancy Meeting through authorship of a submitted abstract.
