Description
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Travel Award Supplement helps PhD students, postdoctoral and clinical fellows, and junior faculty learn research skills off-site or perform studies necessary to a cystic fibrosis (CF) project that cannot be performed at their home institution. Opportunities may take place in a host laboratory, through a laboratory exchange, or in a hands-on training course.
Trainees are expected to learn to use an assay, technique, or model and to collect, analyze, and interpret data with it. For transferable methods, the goal is to bring the approach home and use and troubleshoot it with minimal reliance on the host laboratory. The program emphasizes practical training that cannot be fully acquired through reading or remote consultation.
