Description
Alaska NSF EPSCoR’s Travel Awards support participation in conferences, workshops, trainings, and other appropriate academic settings through its Interface of Change project. The program offers periodic funding for domestic travel related to the work of project participants and partners, or work closely aligned with the project’s mission and vision. Professional-development activities include presenting research, interacting with colleagues and mentors, and obtaining training. Students and early-career professionals receive priority.
Interface of Change seeks to build resilience in Gulf of Alaska coastal communities through co-developed, use-inspired research on land-to-ocean linkages affecting marine resources. Its researchers work with rural communities, industry farmers, and agency managers to understand environmental drivers of wild-harvested and farmed marine resources and model community adaptation strategies.
