The European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) offers more than 100 Travel Grants annually to help eligible young scientists present accepted abstracts at ESCMID Global. The programme supports congress attendance and scientific exchange rather than funding a separate research project. Recipients are selected from presenting authors of the highest-rated accepted abstracts who requested grant consideration.
ESCMID Global welcomes original research and case reports or series across clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. Topics include bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections, antimicrobial resistance, diagnostics, therapeutics, infection prevention, fundamental microbiology, public health and vaccines. The programme also includes professional and educational affairs. Support combines free congress registration with a travel allowance for onsite attendance; awardees unable to attend onsite can still receive free registration.
