Description
The Huntington offers six travel grants for one month of research in libraries or archives outside the United States or Canada, especially in the United Kingdom, continental Europe, or Latin America. The program supports doctoral candidates who have advanced to candidacy, faculty members, and other postdoctoral scholars based in North America.
Preference is given to research in areas where The Huntington’s collections are strong, although applications in all humanities fields will be considered. Applicants identify the foreign archival or library materials they need to consult and explain the relationship between the proposed overseas research and research that has been, or will be, conducted using The Huntington’s collections. The review committee determines whether the proposed destinations are best supported through a travel grant or an exchange fellowship.
