The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) offers a limited number of individual student travel grants through its technical divisions, with funding from the TMS Foundation. These grants help offset transportation and hotel costs for students attending the TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition or the Materials Science & Technology (MS&T) conference.
The program supports active participation in the professional community through committee meetings, poster and oral presentations, and student activities such as Bladesmithing and Materials Bowl. Conference participation gives students opportunities to engage with experts, receive constructive feedback, broaden their perspectives, and deepen their understanding of the field. All five TMS technical divisions support Annual Meeting travel, while three divisions support MS&T travel.
