Travel Grants - Society for Mathematical Biology support scientists’ travel to present papers or posters or attend courses at mathematical biology meetings, advancing research and career goals.
Funder: Society for Mathematical Biology
Due Dates: Rolling (Travel Grants)
Funding Amounts: Up to $750 per grant
Summary: Supports active participation in mathematical biology meetings other than the Society’s Annual Meeting through travel funding.
Key Information: Applicants must be active, current SMB members with at least one year of membership before requesting funds.
The Society for Mathematical Biology’s Travel Grants help scientists attend and participate in mathematical biology meetings other than the Society’s own Annual Meeting. Administered by the Board of Directors, the program supports travel for presenting a paper or poster or attending a relevant course. Requests should explain how the meeting contributes to the applicant’s research and future career goals.
The program gives preference to junior scientists who lack sufficient travel funding from other sources, including students, postdoctoral researchers, and non-tenured junior faculty. Senior scientists with insufficient travel funds may also receive support, but have lower priority. The Board also prioritizes applicants who have not received an SMB travel grant within the previous five years.
