    Description

Trentham Monkey Forest conservation funding is administered by the Primate Society of Great Britain’s Conservation Subcommittee (CSC). Since 2022, Trentham Monkey Forest has provided an annual pool for conservation grant applicants, allocated at the subcommittee’s discretion through the normal CSC application process.

The program supports work of direct benefit to primate conservation and primate conservation education. Its broad remit includes addressing known threats to populations or constraints on recovery, shifting incentives through training, awareness-raising, compensation schemes or policy influence, and surveys that direct conservation effort to important locations. Other research with a direct conservation benefit is also eligible. Competitive assessment places considerable weight on specific, attainable goals that benefit primate conservation, particularly the survival of wild populations.
