Description
The Tri-Alliance Grant Honoring ASHT Founders is jointly funded by the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT), American Hand Therapy Foundation (AHTF), and Hand Therapy Certification Commission. The program awards one or more grants annually to promote meaningful research within any domain of hand therapy. AHTF verifies the appropriateness of proposed research.
The program supports experimental quantitative research, including systematic reviews, as well as mixed-methods and qualitative research aimed at advancing clinical practice in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. Applications should ideally address current AHTF research priorities. Previously funded work includes measurement of grip and pinch strength in young children, upper extremity injury prevention in musicians, and implementation of clinical practice guidelines using a smartphone app.
