Description
The California Strategic Growth Council (SGC) administers the Tribal Capacity Building Program through its Community Assistance for Climate Equity Program. It funds staff capacity and provides technical assistance so California Native American Tribes can secure resources and advance Tribal-led housing projects and climate mitigation, adaptation, and resilience work. Funded activities can include planning, preparing grant applications, and supporting project implementation.
Grantees work with a technical assistance provider for flexible, no-cost help tailored to their needs. Support includes grant management, planning, implementation assistance, training, staff and economic development, peer learning, and partnership building. The program aims to strengthen Tribes’ long-term ability to sustain housing and climate action.
