Description
The Washington State Arts Commission (ArtsWA) administers this grant with funding provided by the Washington State Legislature. It supports Washington State Federally recognized Tribes as they expand, enhance, or create space for art and culture in ways that are respectful of and responsive to their communities. Tribes determine which cultural activities their projects will support.
Projects may involve language, foodways, gathering spaces, classes and mentorships, regalia making, carving, weaving, Tribal museums, or culture teachers. Funding can also sustain the people and resources behind this work, including artist fees, museum collections, materials, technology, and services that make programming more accessible. The grant is non-competitive: an eligible proposed project receives funding.
