Description
The Thoracic Surgery Foundation for Research and Education collaborates with the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Research and Analytic Center on this fellowship. The center houses analytics and clinical research using cardiothoracic surgery registries in the STS National Database. One fellow works closely with its database and analytics staff on clinical outcomes research.
The fellowship develops the fellow’s understanding of database variables, study design, statistical methods, and risk modeling. Work spans a research proposal and statistical analytic plan through analysis, abstracts, manuscripts, and publication, with experience in managing a research project throughout.
