Description
This fellowship provides a unique opportunity for clinical fellows in cardiothoracic surgery to engage in outcomes research utilizing the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) National Database. Fellows work closely with the STS Research and Analytic Center’s in-house database and analytics team, gaining hands-on experience in statistical modeling, research study design, risk modeling, and project management. The program is designed to impart a deep understanding of clinical database variables, research methodologies, and the full research lifecycle, from proposal development through publication. The fellowship aims to advance clinical research in cardiothoracic surgery and foster the next generation of clinician-researchers.
