Description
The TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Programme supports three-month research stays at German research institutions for early-career researchers living and working in sub-Saharan Africa. Run jointly by The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and the German Research Foundation (DFG), it considers all academic fields and aims to initiate African–German scientific collaborations that can develop into longer-term links.
Visiting researchers and hosts must agree on the research proposal before submission. The host provides the necessary research infrastructure and assesses the applicant’s subject-specific suitability before issuing an invitation. DFG funding supports the visitor’s stay and travel, alongside direct material and laboratory costs incurred by the host institution.
