Description
The award provides $10,000 in unrestricted funding to a female-identified visual artist residing in Washington State who is age 60 or older and has dedicated at least 25 years to creating art. Established in honor of painter Yvonne Twining Humber, the award recognizes artistic excellence, professional accomplishment, and sustained commitment to the visual arts. The selection process intentionally incorporates a lens of racial equity and aims to recognize the unique challenges that female artists often face, such as career interruptions due to family responsibilities.
