The University Association for Contemporary European Studies (UACES) supports thematic Research Networks serving its members and the broader European Studies community. Relaunched from 2026, the programme is designed to strengthen strategic impact and long-term sustainability. Convening Teams act as custodians on behalf of UACES, developing networks around themes with strong relevance to members and clear potential to advance European Studies.
Networks work through two-year plans combining knowledge generation and dissemination, professional development and capacity building, and inclusive, collaborative scholarship. Activities include workshops, seminars or mini conferences and regular contributions to Ideas on Europe. The programme emphasises participation across perspectives, methodologies, experience levels and backgrounds, alongside mentoring Early Career Researchers into future leadership roles. Proposed networks should complement existing UACES networks rather than duplicate their work.
