The Dayo Gore Dissertation Fellowship is administered by UC San Diego’s Black Studies Project (BSP). It provides one academic quarter of support for a doctoral student in the dissertation research or writing stage. Applicants may work in any discipline, provided their research is situated within African American, African, and/or African Diaspora Studies.
The fellowship connects dissertation work with BSP’s interdisciplinary community through events, its Graduate Seminar, and its Graduate Writing Collective. BSP brings together faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates across campus and the UC system for collaborative research and intellectual exchange. Its central interests include Black feminist and queer studies, transnational and Diasporic studies, and Black social movements.
