Description
The University of Connecticut Library’s Archives & Special Collections offers competitive research grants to offset travel expenses for short visits to its archival holdings. The program supports scholars and researchers at any career stage who need direct access to departmental collections for a defined project. Priority goes to applicants who demonstrate a research need for materials available in Archives & Special Collections.
Particular consideration is given to projects using selected collections in Connecticut citizen advocacy, Latin American politics and social movements, Black arts programming, business and tax resistance, disability and domestic labor, railroad electrification, poetry, artists’ books, Montessori education, children’s illustration, avant-garde literature, and silk manufacturing. Recipients consult the collections for the purpose outlined in their proposal and describe the value of the research experience to their project.
