Description
This program, administered by the UF/IFAS Office of the Dean for Research, supports faculty seeking one-time funding for research equipment and infrastructure enhancements. Its primary aim is to bolster the research infrastructure within UF/IFAS, increasing both the impact of research activities and the competitiveness for extramural (external) funding. Awards are intended for non-recurring costs, such as the purchase of equipment and associated infrastructure modifications (e.g., room or power upgrades), and are not intended to support personnel or ongoing expenses.
Proposals should emphasize collaborative use by multiple faculty and demonstrate strong commitments of matching funds from faculty and/or their units. Written quotes for equipment or infrastructure are required prior to fund release. The program expects to fund approximately 20–25 proposals each cycle.
