UICC’s Technical Fellowships support international visits of two weeks to two months for cancer professionals to learn cancer-control knowledge, skills and techniques. The programme aims to strengthen both individuals and their home organisations through applying and sharing new skills after returning. It also builds professional networks for continued exchange, guidance and training.
The 2026 call emphasised cost-effective, evidence-based public health interventions suited to local contexts and health systems. Priorities included prevention, early detection, equitable access to affordable and effective treatment, and supportive and palliative care. UICC particularly welcomed work on women’s cancers, lung cancer and people-centred care, with specific encouragement for cervical cancer projects expanding HPV vaccination access. Implementation, translational and clinical research should directly improve cancer patients’ health and well-being; purely basic research is not encouraged.
