Key Information: Invitation-only; must be a member of IODP3 or SPARC science teams.
This grant provides funding for UK researchers invited to participate in research associated with International Ocean Drilling Programme (IODP3) expeditions or SPARC projects. The programme aims to advance multidisciplinary subseafloor research addressing major Earth system processes, guided by the 2050 Science Framework. Projects should contribute to understanding habitability and life on Earth, tectonic cycles, climate dynamics, Earth system feedbacks, environmental tipping points, global cycles of energy and matter, and natural hazards in marine environments. Funding supports post-cruise moratorium research or research within the SPARC project period, including travel and subsistence for expedition participation and related science meetings.
