    Description

The London Mathematical Society (LMS), Vietnam Mathematical Society (VMS), and Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) jointly run this reciprocal fellowship programme. Each year, it supports a Vietnamese early career mathematician visiting a UK university and an established UK mathematician visiting Vietnamese universities or research institutions. Visits last between one and three months.

The programme aims to foster new research partnerships, facilitate knowledge exchange, and strengthen long-term mathematical collaboration between the two countries. It builds on the LMS’s first Global Meeting in Vietnam in August 2025 and its reciprocity agreement with VMS. UK fellows are expected to contribute to academic life in Vietnam through lectures, workshops, research seminars, mentoring, or other activities agreed with their hosts.
