    Description

This grant supports U.S. scholars, professionals, and artists in pursuing research, teaching, or professional projects in European countries (excluding Ukraine) that focus on Ukraine or Ukrainian studies. Projects may include independent research, teaching, professional development, or a combination of these activities. The program is designed to foster international collaboration and engagement with Ukrainian colleagues remotely or with Ukrainian citizens displaced beyond Ukraine due to the ongoing war.

Grant activities must take place in a single European host country, and applicants must secure an affiliation with an appropriate institution (e.g., university, research institute, non-profit, or think tank) in that country. The award cannot be undertaken within Ukraine, and travel to Ukraine during the grant period is prohibited. Public engagement—such as mentoring, lectures, and community involvement—is strongly encouraged to strengthen ties between the U.S., the host country, and Ukraine-related communities.
