Summary: Supports UK AI SMEs and deployers to prepare existing AI and machine learning solutions for consequential decision-making.
Key Information: Collaborative projects only: a UK AI SME must lead a consortium of two or three organisations.
Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, runs this Phase 1 BridgeAI competition to help advanced AI and machine learning solutions progress beyond pilots towards trusted operational deployment and replication. The Decision Critical Systems strand focuses on systems that help people make high-risk judgements, recommendations or decisions with significant consequences for deployers or end users.
Projects must define an evidence-based deployment use case, assess supplier and deployer readiness, identify deployment barriers and outline preparation for Phase 2. They must obtain support letters from potential future deployers outside the consortium and demonstrate the solution using representative deployer data and systems in a representative operational environment. The programme supports existing solutions, not early-stage concepts, routine implementation or generic business-process improvements.
