Description
This UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) opportunity is part of its IS8 AI Programme. It funds ambitious, exploratory projects that bring AI specialists together with researchers in other disciplines to test how AI can address clearly defined challenges in engineering biology, advanced materials, quantum technologies, medical research or fusion energy.
Projects might demonstrate the feasibility of an AI approach, develop a prototype tool or workflow, identify data and infrastructure needs, or establish a path toward longer-term research. The programme seeks potentially transformative advances rather than incremental work. Projects focused primarily on developing AI methods without a clear link to progress in a research domain are outside its scope. Funding is subject to Full Business Case approval.
